Sending a CCA request would be admitting the debt, provit letter the way to go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Don't think the CCA request acknowledges the debt.
At least not according to another forum I use.:beer:0 -

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback with regards to shredding the letters and ignoring them. The only problem with this is that, in my experience, that doesn't change my credit report. Lowell are refusing to remove the debt even though I have proof that it is not mine. If anyone reading this has actually managed to resolve the problem I would be very grateful for your feedback. Kind regards.

OK, I'm not a total idiot but I feel Lowell are taking me for one.
They claim I owe them a debt from December 2000, I rember having the debt with HSBC and killing it the following year but I've not heard of this debt since, I have just moved into a new home and I have received a letter telling me of this debt and how they used the credit reference agency to get this address?!
I will send the letter asking for proof as I have seen advised earlier in this thread but is there any other course of action that I should take oweing to these (quite frankly) underhanded tricks by which they are intruding on my life?0 -

If it dates from 2000, and you have not acknowledged it for a period of six years the debt may be statute barred, if so, that's the letter you should send, not the provit !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you to you both, this is information to be treasured. For what is literally my first post and (in all fairness) maybe my only post I would make you have pointed me in good direction, thank you. Xxx
I do, however, still feel violated that they would appear to have stalked me.0
