Why arnt my TSB loans on my credit file ?

Hi all.
Quick question.

Ive had two loans with TSB for the least few years.
Ive never missed a payment and have now paid them both off completely.

Question is, why have these loans never shown up on my credit file(s)

I bank with TSB, is this the reason ?

  • Ive got my Experian and Equifax reports.
No sign of my bank account activity or the TSB loans ive been paying off.

    anyone else experienced this ?

Are you sure you're definitely looking at your records? Do you have unusual spellings in your surname maybe? A lot information in credit files is put together by very clever systems from multiple sources, but it's not flawless (ha, show me any technology that is)

As you loan is repaid, it would probably benefit you to show it on your credit files, so maybe you could issue some kind of notice of correction asking them to list something (rather than remove something as is usually the case lol). It should increase your credit scores on the whole.
  • Yes theyre definitely my files.
Ive looked back at some of my old reports and my bank account and loans have never been on them ?

Thats what im thinking, i have an excellent record with the bank & now ive have two loans paid off as well.
I just cant understand why none of it is on my credit file, or ever has been.
Ive been with TSB for ten years and have been paying off the loans for the last three years.
according to them im a saint ! never missed any payments or gone over my overdraft limit etc

    im stumped !

Hmm, well I would first speak to Lloyds-TSB. You say you've been with TSB for 10 years, but it's merged since then. I don't know how, but could that be anything to do with it?

Historically, most banks didn't report anything to the CRA's unless there was a default. None of the loans/cards/mortgages I have held over the years with my bank have ever appeared on my file. Until that is, this month, when the credit card I hold with my bank appeared for the first time (had the card over 5 years!) - and no, I haven't defaulted ;)

The main banks do now seem to be slowly adding accounts, so they may appear sometime in the future, but I wouldn't have thought they'd bother with a loan thats been settled.
    Highest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300 :(
    Debt Free - August 2006!! :D

  • thanks for your replies :)

Ive asked around and quite a few peoples laons etc that belong to the company they bank with dont appear on their reports either.

Thought it was something wrong with my files or something.

    stress over :)
