Welcome Finance are not currently lending and may well not be in business at all in the near future.

Citi no longer offer loans either.

Choices are very limited nowadays for any unsecured loans where your credit history is anything less than perfect.

    Hi

Why do you say Welcome Finance may not be in business in the near future? What would happen to their already existing customer base? I guess it is a blessing in disguise that they are not lending and are probably best avoided, not only do they ruin your Credit Rating, by adding late payment markers as and when they see fit, even though you pay monthly, and never miss, your monthly payment is merely interest, and your balance just continues to creep up and up and the only solution in the end is to re-finance some place else and get rid, avoid like the plague!!

What about your buildings insurance? Surely that would cover something like this.

It would make sense to get a number of roofers to have a look and give a price as it could be something far simpler (and cheaper) than perhaps is being currently suggested to you by the person that has quoted you.

Buildings insurance isn't gong to cover this as it is a gradual process (wear and tear) and not as a result of a storm or similar.

Do you know anyone in the building trade (their actual trade isn't relevent) as there are lots of tradesmen who are currenlty without work who may know a roofer who would be grateful of a bit of work.
