I stopped paying me creditors in October 2008 and only went br last week. I did get one ccj in this time but this was only last month and perhaps if I had communicated with them I could have dragged that out a little longer, as it was when I got the ccj I wrote to them to ask to reduce payments and they wrote back asking for an I and E, this dragged it out long enough to go br. I got lots of letters from other creditors threatening a ccj but got lots of duplicate letters. Most of my debts had gone to debt collections agencies and I was just getting letters and phone calls which I was ignoring. I am also with the Leeds or and haven't had my interview yet but did speak to someone from their office over the phone at the court and he was lovely
  • thanks jammie for that,i guess some peeps have quite a while before creditors issue all thier threats,an some dont different for everybody, its the knowing if to answer an how to put them off.glad to hear o.r. in leeds not so bad.hope all goes well for you penny

Remember in is not in the interest of the DCA to take you to court. After all the judge could award a £1 a month. They will try and obtain the money by phone calls and nasty letters. You have time on your side. Dont worry.
