in Cutting tax
Approximately 6 yrs ago I was able to claim tax back on child maintenance payments that I had made. I would now like to do the same again. When I claimed my taxback 6 yrs ago I went through a taxback company who obviously took a chunk of my tax rebate for the service that they provided. Can anyone advise me on what is the best way to do this without losing a large chunk of my tax rebate. Oh and as a second thought I have never received any tax assessments from the taxman

I don't know if you can claim tax back on child maintanence payments, but to claim tax back for free contact your HM Revenue and Customs office.0

Best bet is to ring the tax office and ask them , they'll then send you any forms you need - free of charge.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
