further mortgage check?

I have had a mortgage AIP from the bank, they are arranging the surveyor to view the property I wish to buy next week. I asked the mortgage lender if that was it now and if the mortgage was definate, she said "yes thats it,just need to tie up the loose ends once the survey is done than instruct a solicitor",

So is that really it,mortgage is definate?

An AIP is not a mortgage offer.

It is an indication of the likelihood of being granted a mortgage.

Once all their other checks (valuation, income etc) are carried out the lender will then, as long as they are happy with everything, issue the mortgage offer.

    Definite? No it isn't.

    Likely to go through? Yes.
