refused by Barclaycard
Made a telephone application yesterday for a £4000 loan to purchase a car. The gentleman processing this was being very quick and rushing me through the questions. When asked about credit cards I advised I would check wether these were visa/maestro etc. He said oh that will be fine and proceeded with me properly checking. He then advised my application had been refused. I currently earn £24k plus and have £1500 on credit card.
I have just checked my credit rating and everything is in green except an overdraft facility from my mortgage lender which I have never used and this is showing as a "U" which i take is unclasified. It also shows a MBNA card of a balance of £600 also U as I have not received my first bill for this.
Following my call to them I applied online with Tesco's and awaiting a response. What do you think my chances are?

Your going to have a search for the first application which Tesco will see.
have you tried the people you bank with?0 -
No i haven't tried them. Will seeing the refusal from barclaycard mean Tesco's will refuse? From what I have detailed on my credit report any idea why they would refuse?0

they wont no its a decline as far as i no, they just see the search.
your credit report is more than showing what you owe to who, its also shows your debt to income ratio, how much borrowing you have done and are doing.
wait until you get the answer from Tesco0 -
Phoned Tesco's today who advised loan had been approved in principal and paperwork had been sent out. I'll wait and see.0
