teflon saucepans?

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere for a decent set of teflon saucepans?
We bought cheap frying pans for a while and then bought a teflon one and it's proved pretty much indestructable and lasted years and years...
We bought cheap saucepans from Wilkinsons a few months back and they're already massively discoloured, scratched, have lots of burnt on patches and loose handles, one snapped off when washing it yesterday.
I think it's worth investing in a set as good as the frying pan!
I saw a some on ebay which I thought about, ideally I'd like three in different sizes.

Can anyone recommend any? Ideally less than £30 if possible...

I cannot find a good set of pans for less than £30, and the pans I currently have I bought at TK Maxx - so will not necessarily be available.

But these ones CLICKY from Debenhams look like they might fit the bill, and there are codes for 10% off, and free delivery available on the discount codes thread

Remember not to use Teflon (or it's ilk) if you have any pet birds in the vicinity though. :undecided

Is it poisonous? I read some websites that seemed to indicate that teflon was bad but didn't know exactly how or why...?

Argos have Tefal Bienvenu 5 piece pan set for £29.99
if you don't have an argos near you or they won't deliver to where you are, the same ones are on ebay for £29.99 + £6.99 p&p

Tefal pots are very good in my experience.

Wow - they look perfect, I could keep the two frying pans as spares. Shame though, I checked all the local stores and they're out of stock (always the way).
Wonder how many people saw this thread?!

When I searched on yahoo after your reply i found that it had been posted on HDUK so that'll be why there's none available, sorry!

How about these Argos Value 4 piece non-stick pan set silver for £9.79
They are available for home delivery if your local store is out of stock and with an average rating of 4 stars from 40 reviews they don't seem half bad esp when you consider that other more expensive sets have less stars,

Sorry, I don't seem to be able to find anywhere else than that ebay listing i previously posted that has the tefal set in stock.

Yes- over a certain temperature the coating starts to break down & give off carcinogens & other nasties. Dupont actually now admit the problem...well, kindof :rolleyes:
