No win no fee solicitors

I was involved in a car crash in March 2003, since then l’ve suffered from back and neck pain and severe headaches.  Recently l’ve been starting trying to get this sorted out and l’m currently having weekly physiotherapy sessionsand having to do daily stretches.

The car insurance claim in March was eventually settled around November and the third party paid out in full.  Now l want to also claim for my medical problem, that my physiotherapist has told me is very likely related to this car accident.

I was wondering if other MSE’s have used any of these no win no fee solicitors and could recommend one for me to hire.  There are many companies, and the industry doesn’t really have a fabulous reputation.  Thanks for your help.

As there is clearly no liability issue here you do not need a no win no fee solicitor. You could start off yourself by writing to the insurance company stating you are making a claim for personal injury.

Otherwise, just see a personal injury solicitor. No win no fee covers you if matters are disputed and there is a chance you would not recover damages/costs. As you have already recovered the vehicle costs, there can be no dispute on liability for injuries, just negotiation on appropriate settlement.

Stay away from claims companies and see a proper solicitor who specialises in this sort of work.

  • contact your insurance company for advice or if you are a member of a trade union they may offer free advice. I know mine does :-/
    Don't ask me, Im SKINT
  • I had the same as you and used my local solicitor on a no win no fee deal. When it was all done I got a healthy cheque - the insurance company did ask if I was covered on my home insurance - no as I have the basic one and about the car drivers insurance - who i didn't know at the timne didn;t have any - as the other car hit us it wasn't a problem for her. So do check whether you can use your home insurance to make a claim.
  • interesting about the home insurance - one issue though is that march 03 when the accident happened l was with a different insurance company.  Who would l claim with?  new or old?

It would be with the insurers you had at the time of the accident. Your new insurers have no responsibility for things that occurred before they agreed to insure you.

The only disadvantage with this is that you may not get to choose the solicitor you use and they may not be local to you. That is not necessarily a problem in itself but my colleague at work has difficulty getting a response from her solicitors and we do feel that if she was near enough to just turn up at their office she would get a better service. The service in these circumstances is also impersonal.
  • A relative of mine did have to use a solicitor in York about 4 hours drive from whwere they live an she was fantastic!
It is worth going to you own local solicitor to see if they do a no win no fee.
