Freezing chicken

Hi
I bought 2 packs of chicken breasts that were on offer on Wednesday night. A combination of being ill and forgetting has meant that they weren't frozen until last night (I know, I'm stupid). I've frozen them now and have been looking for info on the internet. Do you think they'll be ok?
Thanks

Hi
Do people think they'd be ok? I know you're meant to freeze stuff on the day of purchase, but will I get food poisoning if I've left them for 3 days before freezing?
Thanks

Silly question, but were they still in their selll by date on Sunday when you froze them.
If so, and you kept them in the fridge they should be okay as long as when you thaw thm out do it in the fridge overnight and cook it straightawaymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi, you don't have to freeze things on the day of purchase, (I know it says that on the packet), but the chicken dosn't know which day you bought it
(I'm very very careful btw)
Where they in the fridge from when you bought them to when you froze them, if so thats just the same as them being in the supermarket fridge. Did you freeze them before the use by date on the packet? If so they still should be okay.
When you defrost them you will know if they are off, freezing them won't have made any difference to them. Lets say if you want them for tea on Sunday then take them out Sat. tea time. Whatever you do, do not re-freeze them.0 -
The use by date on them was the 14th, so still well within that. They were in the fridge in between.
Sorry, yes you're absolutely right. They should be ok. I'm being quite blonde (no offence to blonde's though). I just normally always freeze stuff on the day I buy it, if I don't plan on using it straight away and I was worried because it's chicken.
I always make sure meat is thoroughly defrosted before cooking and wouldn't ever re-freeze it, so it looks like it'll be fine.
Thanks!!Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0
