I have used the Fife computer doctor in the past, he comes to you no call out and you pay if repair is needed.
Dont know if he would travel over the bridge but a call wouldnt hurt
    here is his web address

There is a good shop in Blairgowrie called Strathmore Computers - the lady is very reliable, I have used her myself and also the company I work for has used her also, I do know she travels but not sure how far. you would get her number in yellow pages (the address is Leslie St Blairgowrie)

The guys in Maplin are usually excellent as you say, but don't buy PC components from there, its usually very expensive for such things. Indeed a guy in Maplin once told me NOT to buy I think it was a graphics card from them, but to go to a place down the road instead. And that was after advising me on which one to get!

Both Disc Depot in Union Street and 3000rpm just at the start of Hawkhill in Dundee get good reviews.

I've used Disc Depot for the replacement of a PSU and it cost me £20 for the part and labour. PC World in Dundee wanted £85 if I remember correctly.

Although I've never used 3000rpm a friend regularly uses them for bits and bobs and has had her PC repaired there.

    Hope this helps.
