I got mine today as well!

I changed the set electricity price from 13.96 p/kWh to 9.98 p/kWh as we are on BG Websaver3 tariff. Won't be exactly right as we are charged 21.732 p/kWh for 125 units per quarter, but will give a good indication of how much we are charged for the majority of our useage.

    Scary

Got mine today aswell, not even a BG customer.
the energy monitor is massive. I was expecting it to be a little box and a small display like one of those digital kitchen timers.
must have cost BG a bomb to send that huge box 1st class.
i can see myself sitting in the dark, scared to turn on the light knowing what its costing

check out your kettle it went up by 200 pound a month. That assuming that the kettle boiled continually for 1 month, but it does show how much power they use.

Did anyone else get a letter through today as well as the monitor?

I got one saying they recently recieved a daily mirror coupon and "This offer is only open to BG customer who are 70 or over or on qualifying benefits, Unfortunatley because you didnt complete this part of the coupon that requested that information.

In order to complete your request please complete the coupon below **blah blah**

To recieve your free products you must either:

be 70 or over AND provide your date of birth
    OR
be in receipt of certain benefits and provide benefit ref. no.

When you have completed the coupon please send it back to recieve your FREE products"

    LOL

You gotta love BG, they cant even send you free stuff without you having to tell them something at least twice! :rotfl:

Tempted to put a date of birth on it and send it back and see what I get...

Maybe it was something I did/didnt fill in on the online application as I ordered my mum a monitor and she got the letter too! Strange (but not surprising knowing how BG work/dont work )
