Hi,
My mortgage has finished its fixed period at the end of last year and has risen loads, we need to change our mortgage, but now dh is self employed (has been for 1 1/2 years) where should we be looking for a mortgage as online quotes seem out? we have a********* credit history. the business is doing well. we have our first year of accounts..........but pay an accountant to make profit look as small as we can!?!?!?!?! not much use for a mortgage company!!
any help would be appreciated, i am officialy becoming a poster here, spent all day organising my out goings, so far today cut 38.00 off pm, still got Sky, car insurance and mortgage to look at.
Hope someone can help, idealy a company that can be delt with over the phone, i have 4 young children 3 all on school holiday and cant face to many appointments with them in tow!!!!
thanks again

Hi There Kate
Your best bet is to see a whole of market, fee's free mortgage broker. There are plenty of companies you can find on the internet prepared to give advice over the phone. you would be best to ask for an evening appointment if you have small children, I have 3, and struggle to speak to anyone before 7.30pm!
Ps - to reassure you, there are plenty of mainstream lenders who would consider your case, being self employed with only a years accounts isn't that unusual these daysI am a Mortgage Adviser

It will indeed depend on your whole scenario.
Have to agree with MM that it would be probably wise to have a chat with a whole of market adviser - some will be happy to deal over the phoneI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi Kate
had a similar situation last year - I wanted to remortgage but had gone self-employed the year before (suddenly felt like an outcast!!)
I went to an independent broker (who I already knew) and he got me a decent fixed deal with Northern Rock. It seems NR are better than most when it comes to the self employed. I only had 14 months of accounts but they seemed happy with my 'ability to pay'.
hope this helps
