Britannia money laundering

Hi,
I applied for a mortgage with the Britannia a few weeks ago and all going smoothly. I checked on my Call Credit file and found the following entries:
Search Organisation:Britannia (ML)
Search Unit Type:Barnstaple
Name:Mr x
Date of Birth:x
Address:x
Search Date:30/06/2009
Search Purpose:Money Laundering Product
Ok, but yesterday they searched again:
Search Organisation:Britannia (ML)
Search Unit Type:Completions and Additional Lending
Name:Mr x
Date of Birth:x
Address:x
Search Date:10/07/2009
Search Purpose:Money Laundering Product
Does anyone know what information they can see when they do these types of searches and why they would do so twice for the same application? FYI, they did a credit check on me via Experian at the same time as the 1st Call Credit check and have not done another since.
Thanks,
Dan

yes. I use the Experian money laundering check.why they would do so twice for the same application?
Maybe a different person did it or they have newer information on the second check which may have improved the score given to qualify (if it failed before). Thats happened to me a few times where the data shows an error which you notify Experian of and they correct and you recheck.
In this case, though it looks like a different person as hte unit type is different.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You dont see credit details. And it doesnt count as a credit check either. Its more a confirmation that enough details exist and the certain details are correct (e.g. verified date of birth - it says that and doesnt give the date of birth)So do they see my credit accounts or is it just a name/dob/address check?
That may explain the second check. If you failed the first one, the second one would have those details input and give it a pass.BTW, I failed the electronic ID check whilst applying over the phone so I had to give a copy of my drivers licence and passport in at a branch.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The money laundering check is the electronic ID check they mentioned. While it shows up when you check your credit history it won't show with any other lenders.0
