Don't book with lastminute.com

Forget the Top Secret Hotel deals! You can find the same prices - and less on other hotel booking sites that don't charge you a cancellation fee or won't refund your money! Tried to cancel a booking with last-minute.com almost as soon as I made it only to be told it's non-refundable. Amazing!! Especially seeing other hotel booking websites give you plenty of time to cancel your booking and some even allow you to pay on departure! I'd booked 1 night - well in advance - and am now obliged to go or lose the money. Buyer Beware!! Lastminute.com? More like Lastchance.com!

In Fairness if you use lastminute.com correctly and know there policies I have found you can get some great deals cheaper than most other sites.

Obviously with hotels there is a no cancelation policy especially on the secret hotels but like with anything else you should read the terms berfore you book.

Alan, I've got every right to rant when lastminute.com takes my money and then doesn't even book me in! That's tantamount to theft!

This post contradicts your first post. How do you know that they have not booked you in if you have not yet stayed?
    Gone ... or have I?

Because I rang the hotel and they had no knowledge of any booking through lastminute.com. I asked reception how long it takes to filter through and they said pretty much straight away. I'd booked on the Friday and rang the hotel on the Sunday and they still didn't have any booking for me. Does that answer everybody's query of how rubbish lastminute.com is? They still won't commit to a refund - even though they haven't secured a booking. The guy on front desk even put the phone down on them. So, if they can't get me in there what chance do I have. Happy Holidays!
