Telephone/Texting work at home

I just wondered if you could tell me all of the companies that I can work at home with texting, on the phone.
I've tried Arise but was declined due to being under 18 - which I took as total age discrimination and am so annoyed about!
I've also tried TeleTech with no luck! and obviously I can't work in the Adult industry due to my age.
Thanks for your help

Yeah having same problem all the time
(I'm 16) Atm, i'm trying to get by on surveys + paid searches, and applied for leaflet delivery with a few firms. I think almost all the phone/text companies are 18+, after looking into 5 i've given up. If you want more info about what i do, pm me. MSE allowed me to see the light0 -
I've got my Junior Apprentice interview next Sunday - lol
but there is no work here in Tamworth, Midlands. I mean not even at McDonalds, ASDA etc. All of the unskilled jobs I can do whilst I'm at school have been taken up by those who have been made redundant, who I feel really sorry for - they're more flexible so I'm told.

Errmm it's not age discrimination as you are not legally an adult.
Sorry but I totally agree that under 18s should not be allowed to do the sort of work Arise expect their ACPs to do. I would not be happy with giving my credit card details to someone under the age of 18 because if something went wrong you could not be held legally accountable!
I strongly recommend you do NOT try to lie about your age. For the Arise job you have to pass a basic disclosure and supply identity documents so you would be found out.
I do commend your attitude though in wanting to earn a wage, and I am sure you are a very conscientious person. I wish you the best of luck in finding some work.0 -

You would not be happy with me doing this kind of work, but yet I can do it in ANY call centre up and down the country. I can even work for a MAJOR bank close to home in their call centre.
I can also work for Shop Direct at their call centre in Preston if I wanted to and I can be held legally accountable because I can be prosecuted, if I did do anything wrong such as fraud etc.
The Age Discrimination Act of 2006 prevents discrimination against workers of any age, who have a NI number, from aged sixteen to age sixty five.
I was near the end of the SDG training when Arise cancelled everything, after TWO WEEKS work, so I am MEGA MEGA !!!!ed off about Arise.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 16 year old working, even with, omg, your bank card numbers. Don't be ridiculous, of course you can be held legally accountable. Ever heard of a Young Offenders Institution? Who do you think goes there?
If I were the employer, e.g. Arise, I can understand why they might be sceptical about taking on under 18s, but not for the reason that they can't be trusted with credit card numbers!Dan

I'm 17 and started working in a call centre over a year ago when I had JUST turned 16, in the largest credit card company in the UK. I've handled thousands of peoples account details, EVERYthing apart from their pin numbers, personal details, from the extremely rich and poor, and have yet to find someone who hasn't been happy with the service I provide, in comparison to some of my older colleagues, so it does annoy me slightly you say that you disagree with me working with account details because of my age, when there is proof that I generally do a better job than alot of my older colleages at work!
As for not been criminally liable for anything, thats absolutely wrong!Student.

Perhaps its more to do with processing credit agreements or something of that nature? I know in my last job I worked in sales and our store offered credit in various forms, but until I turned 18 I wasn't allowed to process the credit agreements.
I too was under the impression, as was the other poster, that people under the age of 18 cannot be held legally accountable for certain things, such as entering into certain contracts because that's the reason that some companies (such as ebay) state that under 18s cannot have an account with them. (I'm going on the rules I read before I turned 18 so this is at least a year ago and may have now changed)
I might be wrong but i've always seen it like this...
If you're not old enough to drink alcohol, then you're not allowed to serve it to other people in a pub and thats an age exempt job...
If you're not old enough to have credit, then you're not allowed to process credit agreements.
