Halifax stop gifted deposits - anywhere else accept them?

About 12-18 months later than they should have done!

Horrible market distorting concept the gifted deposit.

i agree, but being able to use it right now would really help me and the seller reach a conclusion

Ok a quick post, my latest info is that the majority of lenders will take these as long as a letter is provided by the giftor confirming it is an outright gift.

C & G, Northern Rock, Abbey (nightmare service much of the time though with Abbey)

BTW - Veronica, in my other life I'm a dance music producer - specifically 'electronica' as a genre - does your name have any relevance to the music scene?

Yes my name does indeed have music scene relevance - Madonna was once going to call a remix album 'Veronica Electronica'...but then didn't for some reason, so i thought oh i quite like that, and use it as a name
