Totally out of the blue ... was playing earlier, just plugged it into PC to charge it (it had about 50% charge left) and now have a blank screen and it won't switch on
It's about 3 years old, 4gb Nano .... so well out of warranty!
Has anyone else had this, and if yes, what do I do?
Thanks for any advice.

Try to press and hold the Menu and center button for ten seconds.0

Nope ... nada.
It actually feels cold to the touch as well, although I've had it plugged in to see if I can get some charge into it. Normally it feels slightly warm after its been charging?0 -
In addition to Jesses suggestion try toggling the hold button on & off a couple of times and then try holding the menu & centre button for about 10 seconds
IPod should reset with the apple symbol
Does Itunes recognise your IPod ?
Also have you tried with a different sync cable ?0 -
Cheers Shaun ... nope, nothing at all!
Time to bury it me thinks .... arghhhh!!!
Have just ordered a new 8gb Nano - I couldn't bear to sit through 3 hours of Ryanair ads ... and I'm a fan of theirs!!!0
