question about freezing bread

hi

I have a loaf of bread that has been frozen when bought and defrosted to use this wk. however, we are going away and have only used half of it. could the remaining half be re-frozen to use another time?

has anyone ever done this? will it be ok, seems a shame to waste it.

thanks.

It's not recommended, but I will say that a couple of weeks ago while I was away from my flat some nincompoop turned my electricity switch off in the communal hallway, and when I got back much of the freezer contents had defrosted, including two loaves of bread.

Like you, I didn't want to waste them, but didn't need them all right away, so I did re-freeze one of them, which I later ate and am still here to tell the tale!

Alternatively, couldn't you make sandwiches for your journey?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I wouldn't recommend it -I did it once and when I got it out of the freezer it had turned green!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
