Estate Agent Fees for boards upfront???

    used to do the accounts for an estate agent he was getting charged £20 a board and that included fitting!

    In England over the last 15 years , the no sale no fee ( the fee being an all -inclusive amount - inc adverts/boards) became popular. although some agents still do it the other way . Made a bit more complex given the HIP costs, which again most agents will expect to be paid somehow .( do you have HIPs in NI ?).

    Plus in these hard times I guess agents are not keen on the outlay themselves on hope of maybe getting paid months down the line .

    If you said "I am considering selling up but only if i get an acceptable offer, if i dont i wont, simple as that" to an agent, I guess they would be even less likely to take you on with no upfront commitment

    My comments relate mainly to the smaller " owner run " firms - in the national chains its often just a numbers game- but guess then those are no looking at bottom line.
