Egyptian cotton bedding

Hi,

I have some egyptian cotton bedding with a 200 thread count. I usually buy from John Lewis but they cost a fair bit so I checked out ebay and there seems to be many sellers doing bedding with a minimum 400 thread count which is what I want to "upgrade" to.

Does anyone know if any of it on ebay is any good or do you know of a reasonable place (at a reasonable price) to buy it from elsewhere?

Thanks

M

    Hello,
We usually buy our egyptian cotton from TK Maxx...really reasonable, and depending on when you go in there can be lots of different options!
They generally do 300 thread count upwards.
    Hope that helps

I bought some 400 count sheets from Chiltern Mills last week. It feels really nice to touch but its a **** to iron! £19 single, £25 double, £34 king.

They have a store in Leeds which strangely enough doesn't sell these sheets, but if you ask, they will get them from storage as they distribute all the online orders.

I bought mine online from https://www.towelsrus.co.uk and they were very reasonable. £12.95 double + postage for 200 thread. Have not had time to check higher quality!

i get mine from tkmaxx too- and as i am not that picky about colour usually manage to pick up some from the reduced price shelf.
the 200 count is called percale
the 300+ seems to be called sateen
don't know what the dictionary definition of those are though.

Dunelm Mills might be a good place to try, too.

Another TK Maxx recommendation here - you can get some really good quality bargains.

Was in local Matalan a couple of days ago and noticed they had reasonably priced Egyptian cotton sheets and pillowcases but I didn't check the thread count!
