Hi all

I ordered some flowers online from Bunches.co.uk yesterday which were delivered for my mum this morning.

I'm not very happy with them...............

I know that I can be a bit "picky!!" :o so I would like some other opinions please.

I thought they looked really bright and colourful on the website my mum loves peach roses and carnations which was the main reason I chose this bunch, they were also meant to be £40.99 (but I never paid that much as I'm an MSE'r!;)) But I think they look more creamy beige and nowhere near as nice as photo. I am realistic I know they are never going to look exactly the same as the photo and that the lillies will probably be bright orange when they come out but it's the other flowers that I mean??

The 2 photos on the left are off the website and the right one is the one I have taken.

Any thoughts & comments appreciated:T

hello, i would be dissapointed too, not too bad if its from somewhere like valueflora on their £10 bunches but not a £40 one! It doesnt look anything like the pictures.

bunches.co.uk was on watchdog earlier in the year, maybe there will be some info on the bbc website about the company and how to complain?

    btw cute dog!

Think its beause they've used more cream dahlias (or whatever them things are called) than in the pic so it's taken a bit of colour out of it.

Have they got a customer services number on their web site?

What a cutey max is :D

I wouldn't be happy at all ..... it would have been just as well if you had ordered them to match a particular colour scheme in your house ... if a company show a certain arrangement for a certain price, you should blooming well get the EXACT same flowers, EXACT same colours .... no, I would contact them and tell them it is not a fair representation of the arrangement on their website and you aren't happy.

catlou, I've never been entirely happy with Bunches flowers and much prefer either Next or M & S. Often been choccies missing which most certainly causes me to complain.

The most expensive flowers in any bunch are the roses, can you count how many there should be? Next is the lillies and then the chrysanthes and any other filler flower.

Get on and complain but give a little (only a little) on the exact colour as they can vary from which ever supplier they have bought from. Also, take into consideration that the Bunches arrangements are taken in a studio and the lighting will vary a great deal from natural lighting as yours is. The studio shot looks quite warm to give the yellows a bit more depth of colour.

OFF TOPIC - How gorgeous is little Max, I love him.

ON TOPIC. catlou, I wouldn't be happy either, I do know that colour is hard to match from a photo but even having said that I don't think it very much even resembles what you thought you'd be buying. I know you said you didn't pay the full price but if you had paid nearly £41 for it you'd have been even more dissappointed and I think anyone else who does will not be very happy either.

When these companies take photos they shine lights on the flowers and bright daylight, you will never get the same effect in a room unless you do the same.

    Love the dog
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • The reason they look paler is that they have used a bit more of the lemon crysanth and less of the pink than in the photo. The photo you have taken is also a bit greyer just because its with such a strong flash and not taken in a studio. The main reason they dont look so imressive just yet is that those gorgeous orange lillies have not opened up.I can see a few stems of closed lilly buds but no opened up lillies yet at all.Once they open it will look spectacular.
    They are beautiful.

Thanks Everyone for your responses:T - I thought maybe it was just me being a bit OTT!!

I rang bunches yesterday afternoon and said that I wasn't very happy with them and the likeness to the photo etc. but I never really got any sense. The person spoke to their supervisor etc. and then came back to me and said they should be ok as they are all checked before they are sent out and that was it really.

They then said if I wanted to send them back they would give me a full refund? But I haven't actually told my mum I'm not happy with them etc. and I can't really take them back off her?!?!?

So I am going to send them an email to customer services with the photo's attached to stress my point.

Thanks for all your compliments on Max!!.....I would pass the message on to him but he's a big enough show off already.......!!!:rotfl:

    Hi Catlou,
As a qualified florist who no longer works in the business i am torn by what i saw. The bunches when you look have basically the same flowers, but ...the alstroemeria is almost certainly a pink rather than a terracotta variety,The chrysants ( the creamy colour dahlia type flowers) are not placed as the original so it makes them look clumpy and dominate. The lilies in you bouquet are very tightly closed and i have my doubts as to whether alot will ever open as they are so immature.
It is poor value because the chrysant which is the most prominent flower is cheap and the orange lilies are far cheaper than the large white and pink varieties. The most expensive things in the bouquet are the roses and the red foliage type pro-tea type stems( can't remember what they are called.) as far as you get a small amount of impact for what they cost. Unfortunately it is a difficult call, I would not have ordered them but that is because i have an idea of what the individual components cost, i think you should complain but think it might be best to do so on the basis of you doubt the lilies will open...this is purely as i suspect that they will say that your bunch has the same as the photo shoot in them.

    hope this helps
