BA Amex -won't accept OH BT

Had a bit of an odd situation this weekend which i thought i would share with you all. We applied for the BA Amex to get the introductory 1000 air miles, clear it and then use it to transfer some of our debt to a lower APR. The Amex card is in OH's name, the particular debt we wanted to transfer in mine. BA Amex wouldn't accept the BT because it was in someone elses name! Yet I have transferred some of OH's debt onto my (ordinary) Amex card no problem. We eventually ended up BT-ing the debt to OH's Lloyds card - they didn't even ask for the cardholders name!
Has anyone else come across credit cards who only allow BT's from the cardholder?
