depending on the age of children (i'd say this is suitable for under 8's), try pettits animal adventure park just outside yarmouth, good value and we've had a few good days there.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

When you get there buy a copy of the Great Yarmouth Mercury (50p) - it comes out on a Friday and at Easter should have a pull out section in the middle with things to do over easter, often there are money off vouchers too.
Try having a look at the official tourism website for Great Yarmouth before you go.
How old are the children? Are you looking for the attractions or just nice places to go for a picnic etc? Wherabouts are you staying - is it one of the holiday parks or a hotel/b&b in town?0 -
Chips off the market-(garlic mayonnaise for me)-best treat!0

Hi,
Just popped to the pub and they had a 'what's on' in 'greater yarmouth' guide so I picked it up. If you think that you will get it before yu go PM me your address and i will post it to you 1st class tomorrow.
If you are driving here then I would highly recommend a day out in North Norfolk, it is very pretty, the beaches are lovely and it is just a nice day out.
Norwich is a very beautiful city - plenty of shopping and museums/castle (just trying to find out if any of them are free).
I personally would steer clear of the tourist attractions but that could just be because I have lived in the area for too long. Someone mentioned Petits and it is nice for little ones but maybe not for older kids.
Chips off the market are compulsory as mentioned earlier!
Down the road is Lowestoft - in Oulton Broad there is a large park called Nicholas Everton Park which on a nice day is a good place to take a picnic and kick a ball around. They often have power boat racing over the bank holiday weekend (will try to find out later if they are doing it this year) it is free most of the year but I think they charge a couple of times a year including Easter.
Past Lowestoft there is Southwold (very posh are with the lovely coloured beach huts), Dunwich (nice wood to walk through and pub that does nice fish and chips), Jimmy's Farm (Jamie Olivers friend off the telly - have a look at the website they have things going on over Easter - https://www.essexpigcompany.co.uk - but that is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Yarmouth).
Lots of pick-your-own fruit places.
A v nice place to go to for lunch/meal is the Dukes Head in Somerleyton - https://www.somerleyton.co.uk - but it is not cheap - my favourite place to drink!)
There must be loads more things that I just can't think of at the moment - will come back and post later!
There is a go-cart circuit at Beccles (Ellough) according to OH but have never been and don't know how much it costs.
There are a couple of vineyards near Saxmundham (Bruisyard?) that is about 1hr from Yarmouth (never been there myself but OH has).
I really think it is worth getting out of Yarmouth to find someof these lovely places!0 -
If you can get a night out without the kids I'd highly recommend the China Diner which is 1 of the nicest restuarants I've ever eaten at. They charge around £12.50 each & you can eat as much as you like, the beauty is it's not a buffet, the food is cooked to order & there are about 5/6 courses. There's also a Sealife centre in Great Yarmouth.
Suffolk Wildlife Park is good to visit (it's the other side of Lowestoft) .http://www.africa-alive.co.uk/template.php?languageId=1 Somerleyton Hall itself is nice http://www.somerleyton.co.uk/ & you could loose the kids in the maze There's also Pleasurewood Hills Theme park http://www.pleasurewoodhills.com/0 -
oh yeah-as stated-the kids will love pleasurewood hills0
-
the sea life centre is nice and suitable for all ages might be able to get 241 vouchers somewhere
pleasurewood hills is good
There is usually a circus or show on tickets are available in some shops(dont know about easter though but worth checking)
We have never been to seashore but been to other haven parks caister was one of them and if you go to the reception there should be plenty of leaflets on what to go and money off things
We went to devon cliffs and booked a boat ride through reception and got money off
If seashore is like caister then there was a lot of entertainment at the park with shows etc that we didnt go anywhere apart from a stroll along the beach0 -
The Time and Tide Museum is good.
As someone said Lowestoft is great and far better than Yarmouth, less trashy.
I've been to Yarmouth today for the day with the children. Make sure you check out Regent Road as there are lots of bargain shops for food and other items and also the shops by where the buses stop sell really cheap things.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
