Yes I used to get them. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the company but it was advertised in the pages of womens mags. Each month had a new theme eg skincare or eyes and you got products for that months theme and a booklet showing you how to use them. I don't know if you could cancel part-way thru but I signed up for the 20 months worth, starting when I was just 18. so I received the make up between 84-86.
I haven't seen the same type of adverts for years.0 -
Was it Yardley's as part of a club?0

Was is Yves Rocher - seem to remember something like this when I was a teenager, think it was advertised fairly heavily and you had to tick lots of little boxes.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Yes I'd go with Yves Rocher that discription sounds familiar.0

No It is not Yves Rocher. I do remember seeing these packs in the adverts and always thought about getting them but never had the money to waste.
I have not seen the adverts for years and I do mean years . Mind you I don't buy mags anymore.
I have a feeling that company is not around anymore. As would have thought a makeup club would do very well nowadays. Seeing as everyone has gone looking good crazy.
Sorry I can't be anymore help than that.

There was somewhere on the internet offering make up packs cheaply, but you didn't know what you were going to get.
I sent off for a pack to see what it was like, but I was really disappointed with it. They sent loads of rich colours like deep plums and dark greens. They would have looked fab on someone with brown skin and dark hair, however they were too heavy for me as my skin is pasty white and I've got blonde hair.
I didn't send off for anymore, and I can't remember the name of the company now. Here I go again on my own....0 -
It was Yves Rocher. They used to send little make up bags with little samples in. I used to love it. I havn't seen them advertised for a while.
They have a site here http://www.yves-rocher.co.uk/ but I'm not sure if they still do those bags of samples.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
There was also the Universal Beauty Club ( I think!) . Every month or two you got a selection of full size products for the subscription. I had it for a while but stopped as most of the products were not really me.0

It wasn't Yves Rocher I used though they did have something similar where you could order so much stuff but you knew what you werr getting. This was full size products and you didn't know what would be in it, just when you got Jans and it was eyes they would advertise the following months as being cheeks (and you'd get blusher and glitter stuff for cheeks-big in the 80s:D ). As others have mentioned quite often it wouldn't be the colours to suit.0
