sainsburys reductions

hi
went into my local sainsburys yesterday northfield in birmingham and they had some very good reductions on all the "posh" pasta sauces and organic pasta in boxes etc which were cheaper or simliar priced than the homebrand items. dont know if it was just local or in all stores but noticed mine had a few reductions on quite a few items that would nomally be quite pricy.
these are on the actual isles and not the crappy reduced items shelf that is normally full of hardly reduced broken stuff:rolleyes:

eg
de checco fusilli 55p (looks like spiral hair, kids had fun with it:rolleyes:)
de checco organic fuilli 79p
napolina sauces 87p
different organic ones on shelf similar priced, jars of sundried tomatoes etc

  • Likewise in the Coldhams Lane store in Cambridge on Wednesday. Quite a few Amoy sauces reduced as low as 13p, and some pasta sauces in sachets reduced from £1.34 to 0.34.

Again, all the bargains were dotted around the store in the aisles where you would usually find them, not on the reduced shelves as pinkcandyflossprincess said

It seems it is national.... All the items will vary by store, but I got some pasta sauces and pasta. Also, there were curry sauces (Sharwoods and Loyd Grossman ones) but only some of them.

I saw an empty shelf and underneath it was 185g tuna in olive oil 40p

Damn I need to stock up and missed out that is what you get for being good and not going to the supermarket for a week.

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

Be careful at the checkout with the yellow sticker barcode reduced items, some times it is on the side of the item so the customer can see it on the shelf, BUT the check out operator doesn't always see them and scans the full price barcode, so keep your eye on the item and the display as it goes through the check out so you get the reduced price from the barcode on the yellow sticker.

On a similar topic, Asda own brand organic pasta was exactly the same price as 'ordinary' (2 for £1) last week.
