Hi,
I tried for ages but ended up buying new from Ameda (money well spent though). If you'd consider hiring your local maternity ward or birth centre will have phone numbers for the various hire companies. You might also be able to buy ex demo models. Don't be worried about the hygene implications of 2nd hand or hiring, every part of them can be easily sterilised.
Hope you find one,
Trunny
P.S. Sorry to give advice that isn't asked for but just wanted to let you know I wasted £60 on manual pumps before buying the £70 double electric. They really are in a different class to the manual pumps & I hate to see new mums wasting much needed cash.0 -
i used a code form the code board and got the avent uno for £10 off on boots.com:A Boots Tart :A0

When buying an electric pump I think it is wise to get one where you can double pump (express from both breasts simultaneously) to save time and this is also believed to increase lactation.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

i think double pumps depending on situation. i have a single electric pump but i dont work, am a stay at home mum and only really pump every few days cause of weaning pressure.
the avent double pump is more than double the price of a single pump!:A Boots Tart :A0 -
I bought the double but I only ever use 1 at a time, feel too much like Daisy the cow using both.
P.S. Karnam - you've actually got yours to give up a few b/f's when weaning? Is there some special magic word? Please tell me it (begging) lol. My youngest's 13 months old now & refuses to give up his b/f's even though he eats like a horse. I keep threatening to take him to the vets to be wormed.... at this rate he'll still be hanging on when he's 5 :-(0 -
actually mine is only 5 months so we've only given up two milk feeds and she only has 2 cubes a day! its still mostly 'bitty' here!
when i go out though i am able to persuade her to take a bottle from someone else by leaving her crying for 5/10mins so that she'll suck desperately on a bottle after the crying fit.:A Boots Tart :A0
