By entering this prize promotion, you accept and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
1. The prize promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over except employees (and their families) of AOL (UK) Limited, Universal Pictures International UK & Eire Limited (the “Promoter”), and any affiliates or subsidiary companies, as well as representatives or agents of AOL and anyone else who may be involved or connected with the prize promotion. Any entries submitted by agents or third parties will be invalid and will not be accepted by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant. 2. You may enter this prize promotion by answering the multiple choice question found at: http://film.aol.co.uk/features/inglourious-basterds-competition/article/20090708051709990001 and completing the online entry form found on this same page or by sending a postcard with the answer to the question and your name, postal address, email address and telephone to the address stated below to arrive no later than 2 days after the Closing Date.
3. No purchase is necessary to enter this prize promotion.
4. There will be one winner who will win a prize consisting of a trip for the winner plus one guest to the USA and a special screening of Inglourious Basterds.
a. The prize includes: two adult economy return flights to USA, from the winner’s nearest major airport (note, these flights might not be direct). b. A 3 night stay in a 3 star hotel in USA for 2 people sharing one room including [continental] breakfast for each morning of stay. c. Access for the winner plus their guest to a special screening of Inglourious Basterds on 15th August (TBC) which will include a question and answer session with Quentin Tarantino afterwards d. Flight/ticket restrictions apply and, where available, any upgrades will be the responsibility of the winner and their guest. e. The date of the screening is subject to change. The winner must be available to travel on the dates specified by Promoter. f. Hotel Transfers to/from the airport included aswell as transfers to the screening g. The winner and their guest must both be over the age of 18 at the time of accepting this prize. h. Basic travel insurance is included as part of this prize provided that winner and guest meet eligibility criteria of Promoter’s insurers. i. All visas, ESTA registrations and all necessary travel permits and requirements, such as having a valid and current passport and inoculations, are the responsibility of the winner and their guest. j. The cost of any meals not included as part of the prize and all other personal expenses, spending money and any other incidentals are the responsibility of the winner and their guest.
5. The prize promotion closing date is midnight on 22nd July 2009 (the “Closing Date”) and any entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted by the Promoter.
6. All entries with the correct answer to the multiple choice question will be entered into a draw and the winning entry will be selected at random on 22nd July 2009 and the winner(s) will be notified by Email and/or Telephone within 2 days. To contact you we will use the contact details supplied by you when entering the prize promotion.
7. If you are notified of a winning entry, you must confirm acceptance by both telephone and email to claim your prize. If you do not reply to confirm acceptance within 5 days of being notified as a winner, we may offer your prize to someone else
8. By entering this prize promotion you agree that AOL (UK) Limited may pass the data submitted on your entry form to the Promoter should you be selected as the winner. For the avoidance of doubt, the Promoter shall be responsible for providing the winner with the prize and all relevant tickets and accommodation listed as part of it.
9. Only one entry per person is permitted.
10. Submission of entries will not constitute proof of receipt and no responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for entries or acceptances which the Promoter does not receive. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or corruption of data in transit. No responsibility will be accepted for entries or acceptances which are lost, delayed or damaged in the post or elsewhere. Illegible, incomplete, late or defaced entries will be disqualified.
11. The prize(s) must be taken as offered on the dates specified by the Promoter. No cash equivalent or other alternative prize(s) are available in whole or in part except as provided for in these terms and conditions.
12. All prize(s) are non-transferable and where prize(s) consist of tickets to events, all such tickets are non-refundable. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute prize(s) of an equivalent value should the prize(s) become unavailable for any reason. If the winner is not able for whatever reason to accept the prize(s), then the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize(s) to another participant.
13. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, amend or extend this promotion in the event of exceptional circumstances outside its control which affect its ability to operate the promotion.
14. A list of winners' names and locations can be obtained by sending a SAE to the Promoter after 24th July 2009.
15. The winner(s) agree to participate in any publicity or other such promotional activities which the Promoter may reasonably require in connection with the prize promotion and the Promoter shall have the right to use each winner’s name, likeness, image, voice and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes in connection with the prize promotion in all media without further notice and without the need to make any payment to any winner for such use.
16. The decision of the Promoter is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome of the prize promotion.
17. The rules of this prize promotion shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.
