making cookies but no plain flour

Hello there,

Well title says it all. I have went and measured out all the other ingredients and when I went to get the plain flour there was none there:mad:.

I have plenty of bread flour and self raising flour, can I use these instead of the plain flour ? I dont want to go to the shop to buy plain flour unless I really need to.

I've often mistakenly mixed the flours up before in biscuits & pastry with no noticable results. If you could leave the bicarb out then it'd work fine with self raising flour I suppose? HTH :D

Sunny girl is correct, definitely leave the bicarb out.
