Pampers Simply Dry 3.50 @ Tesco

Following on from a thread on another forum. I saw an ad for these and went into my local Tesco to buy some. I resisted the urge to buy a few packs and only bought the one to see what they were like. I used a 3 pound voucher I had, so they only cost me 50p.
You get 26 in a Maxi pack and they appear to be a budget line of Pampers - there is none of the dryness 'technology' listed that you find with regular Pampers. Also the only decoration you have is one the waistband, the rest of the nappy is white (this doesn't bother me, but we all have our preferences. They seem quite thin and I don't know if I would trust one overnight (we shall see). They usually retail for 3.99, which is nearly 2.00 less than a regular pack but you get less (6 I think). So if you were wondering whether or not to give then I try I hope this helps. Personally, I think you would be better off buying Asda/Tesco own brand if you were trying to save money

I think you should wait for a sale at ASDA. They have the mega packs (120-150 diapers) for 12 pounds every once in a while, and with a deal you can get a few more pounds off. Why bother with cheap diapers when you can get the real pampers for less? (And don't worry, I think they still make a profit :-)0

Mega packs (3 of the £6 packs I think) are 2 for £18 at the moment so a very good deal. Alternatively Boots have a 3 for 2 on huggies and pampers £9 packs.
Yes, the pampers have become thinner and I now use huggies overnight!!
Your point about less in a pack....this appears to be a cost reduction exercise!! there used to be 70 in the size 3 pack 4 years ago. 66 when I brought the first pack for DD2. 64 last weekend....who are they kidding??MFiT - T2 # 64start date: 1.7.09 MFW end date: 31.10.17

I can only use huggies stay dry in the blue packs, even during the day, for my eldest-he drinks so much water etc
But I bought a pack of the cheap pampers in boots as I had pampers vouchers to try them. We have tried a few and they are ok for at home, but no way would I trust them not to leak on a car or buggy trip to be honest.
However...last 24hrs ds1 has been unwell and has erm..well, been dirtying nappies every half hour, bless him! These have been great as they are not on long and are serving the purpose.
So great for at home during the day or if littluns are unwell, if you have pampers vouchers to use. If not...don't bother, I've tried tesco and asda own on my youngest(does not constantly drink water) and they are so much better, far more absorbent and softer.0 -
Update: tried a Pampers 'Simply Dry' on bubba overnight and it didn't leak! However, it was very squishy and didn't look very pleasant - you can definitely tell than they are an economy/budget nappy. For the usual rrp then you'd get more and a better quality nappy if you bought Asda's Comfort Dry. They are better than a smart price/value nappy but not £2 better.0
