Swap Rates n Fixed rates

Already have another thread but forgo this and thought it needed its own post.

I am looking at remortgageing and was considering sitting on my current tracker (not tied) for a while and make some savings. If I remortgage its gona cost me around 250 extra pcm but means I am on a fixed rate and I know my costs etc.

Tho I thought that allthough the fixed rate costs have went up recently, the base rate is still low and was curious if the swap rates have maybe started to stabalise or even reduce? Thus making it possible that the fixed rates will either stay as they are or even reduce over the next year. I am thinking that the saving of 250pcm would mean that I could save up £3k in the next year towards reducing my mortgage and if I could then get a 5or10 yr fix it would be ideal. Just curious as to what the predictions are for the fixed rates??? I know the mortgage advisor says they are going up but then that would be theer sales pitch!!!

The MSE forum member Inspector Monkfish often posts with Libor and swap rate information that is hard to find anywhere else. I think the key to remortgaging is the loan to value ratio of the property. The lower it is the better interest rate you can get.
Fear, greed and demand can fuel the future price of money just like any commodity.

I have occasionally looked at this and will continue to look at them, particularly at the moment.

    Thanks
