I think it should be possible for her to pay in cash. If she phones them and explains that she needs a paying in slip (if she hasnt been sent one with the bill) to pay the cash in direct they should be able to help her. then you don't have to get involved

Why can't she pay by cash? All she needs to do is ring them and explain she doesn't have a card and ask for the bank name and account reference to pay into.

Get them to send out a Girobank paying in type-thing? Will they do that?

I might actually have a solution, I've got an old account that I haven't used for a while (they still send me bank statements, so I presume they haven't closed it). I might use that to pay the bill with, thus if there is any comeback later on, there'll be nothing in that account to take..

Ha ha! Take it you didn't have an overdraft on this old account...

Very noble but could come back on you

Yep that's the one's. Or like firefox says just ask for the details over the phone and fill one out direct in the bank.

Absolutely no way you need to get involved in this. Ok it's a bit more hassle for her, versus no comeback for you. Simples!!

Nope, old old account (from my pre-working days), no overdraft..just hope they don't create me an 'unauthorised' one if another transaction comes through after..

But i'll try the paying in slip thing first, never really crossed my mind that they would still be using Girocheque paying in slips anymore....

    Cheers all

    Hi

your friend can open a basic bank account at most banks. The co-op cash minder is on of the few that accepts undischarged bankrupts but there are about 20 out there that accept people without a credit check - so the CCJ(s) would be irrelevant
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Ben - is this female friend of yours very attractive? I sense you probably fancy her and think this may be a way to eventually end up sleeping with her. Trust me, it won't work - she'll just see you as the kind friend who'd do anything for her, and she'll string you along for ever. Sure, she'll say how great you are, etc... and you'll feel like you're getting somewhere - but face it Ben. You will never EVER get into her pants.

Don't give her the money. The heartless using devil woman.

You live in a wealthy area don't you? :p Here in Bradford it's largely a cash economy, very different from Cambridge's maxed out platinum cards.

:rotfl:That made me chucke for a bit. Nope, she's not, and I have no interest in getting in her knickers, but thanks for caring

As for where I live...Rayleigh. It's quite a nice place, err..unfortunately, still Essex, but a Conservative stronghold (Mark Francois), which I believe counters the unfortunate location :p
