So when they are calculating income they will not add IPA for me to OH expenses if that's the case then they will be taking money from the surplus which is not as much surely this is incorrect
  • As far as i am aware this is the case. Each person is assessed individually which is why you have to do two SOA's. Then each surplus is classed as individual so if you had £200 and your partner had £150 you would both end up with IPA's.

Surely if this is for early discharge you would already have an IPA as you would have had to submit an income and expenditure at bankruptcy? Or has someone got a new job to give you a greater surplus?

When we did SOA for BR my husband has only just returned to work from having a long term illness for 3 yrs he is now much better with correct meds etc OR at time said even though we put wages on form because he had only been back at work a week when we went BR they would use incapacity as income until later on.

Cann't work out my figures perhaps you could help working out my surplus £234 50% according to table £117.50 my oh £160 suplus 50% £80 but if we do joint and use all income we only have a surplus of £160 what am I doing wrong pls help

    Queen,
Would like to help but not really sure. One thing I did notice is Child Benefit is listed in both. Do you both receive this or have you allocated half to each SOA?

Where can I get help filling in IPAQ forms I am have trouble with amount of surplus sorry to be a pest bu this is doing my head in I work with figures all day and cann't where the problem is:-

    Household Expenses £1969
    My expenses £ 218

    My income £1437
    OH Contribution £ 890
    Total £2327 - £2187 = £140 Surplus 50% £70 IPA

    Household Expenses £1969
    My OH Expenses £ 286

    My OH Income £1176
    My Contribution £1219
    Total £2395 - £2255 = £140 Surplus 50% £70 IPA

    Joint £1196
    £ 218
    £ 286
    Total £2473 - Joint income £1437 + £1176 = £2613 - £2473
=£140 suplus 50% IPA joint instead of £140 for to single ones

So we do single we are likely to get IPA of £70 each if not cut back but if calculated on joint we would only pay £70 between HELP PLEASE!!!

You don't get to choose to do a joint IPA. BR is individual, so are IPA's

Yippeeee think I have sorted out when I was X whole expenditure by % and not just household expenses therefore it was saying we had a surplus of £100's of ££££ I have X household expenditure by 45% for OH contribution then added my expenses on top which gives a surplus of £136 which is very near the figure if you take all income into account and expenses for both of us I have not taken the mick with SOA not added emergency etc so hopefully they won't cut it back by much so perhaps looking at an ipa of £69 for me and nothing for OH he only has a surplus of £3 I earn more and therefore my contribution is a lot more will keep you updated have taken a deep breath and after my mad 2 min panic feel chilled just need to send forms off and fingers X
