Stuffed mushrooms

I've got some big flat mushrooms (10p from tescos :T). Have made a stuffing from breadcrumbs, garlic, S&P, bit of cheese.
Question is, do I need to precook the mushrooms, or do I just bung the stuffing on top and shove them in the oven.
Can't seem to find any simple recipes like what I'm trying to do.
Thanks

Hi Mumto2,
I brush the mushrooms with oil, add the stuffing and pop them into the oven on a baking tray.
There are some recipes on this thread:
Large Flat Mushrooms?
I'll add your post to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

A brilliant meal if you can find fresh but reduced mushrooms. In my freezer I keep quantities of breadcrumbs with grated cheese and onion, and add whatever fresh herbs I have available. Ham or bacon can be fried up and added to this mix, and the result is very tasty. I am still working on what can succesfully be served with it.0

Thanks all - I did the stuffing like I said, just sprayed mushrooms with a little oil first, then bunged them straight in the oven.
They were lovely and hubby really enjoyed them.
Like the bacon/ham idea and will give that a whirl next time. Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -

Well done Mum22 on your whoopsie. Don't want to hijack the thread but I just love mushroms!
Problem is it's generally so much cheaper to buy a large pack of SP ones but how do you keep them fresh? The ones in plastic punnets sweat so much, it's hard to get them to last a week.
Any ideas??0 -
