Hi,
Anyone got any ideas for cleaning car upholstery on the cheap?
I've got light grey patterned seats and had the car for about 2.5 years now - not washed the insides...and they're looking a bit manky. Plus I had a pot of yoghurt leak in the car and now have some very obvious pale purple slodges on the passenger seat!
Since I want to get rid of the yoghurt stains, which didn't look quite so blatant when I wiped it off when it was wet, I thought I'd give all the seats a going over.
Couldn't find any tips in the Mega Index thread so thought I'd ask here...much thanks in advance!!

Ive just had to clean the carpet in my car (one of the childminding children had a nasty something on their shoe!!!) i used washing up liquid in water, and it came out fine. I have heard you can use water and vinegar to help remove dried in stains, so maybe that might be worth a try on the yoghurt. To help with the smell, put a cloth soaked in fabric conditioner, or tumble drier sheet under the drivers seat, this will help freshen the car!!!!

Hi
I have looked in the mega cleaning index, under cars or settee's I can't see anything that would come under this, but if someone else knows, please point me in the right direction.
I need to sell my car privately soon, so while I'm on leave over the next week I'm going to spruce it up. The front seats inparticular look like they are water stained. Before going to the car parts shop for some expensive foam type cleaner, I just wondered if there is a good old fashioned product that would do as well-especially if I've already got it in the house!!
Thank you:j0 -
Hi Toozie - don't know if it'll help with car seats, but it works wonders with mattresses, so might be worth a try - sprinkle on some baking soda, leave for an hour or two and then vacuum. Won't help the water stains, but it should freshen up the upholstery. Hope it helps anyway0
