Oooh I like the basketsgalore!
I could buy her something nice, but I think when it is make up etc., its nice to be able to choose your own. And I just want her to be able to have the opportunity to spoil herself and buy herself what she really would like. She is such an unselfish person. But she also likes to look good - which is why I wanted to go on the make up theme...
It may only be basic stuff, like mascara and eye shadow and foundation etc., but it would be her choice and her independence too. If that makes any sense...
Edit: Money is tight - so the basics would be considered a luxury.Genie

ok... how about this?
I've been to debenhams before and had a MAC make over... it costs £20 and you then use that £20 value against products you buy after.
Notevery Debenhams had a MAC counter though and their makeup is expensive - but I love it and only buy new when I'e totally run out of something, when this happes I get a make over and then buy what I needed anyway :T
or... not sure if this is within budget? Or the kind of thing you wanted.

Blast - bare faced beauty is minerals and I am a big convert of MMU and would rather she used EB anyway!! But not sure it is her thing.
Beauty Expert - I was thinking of around £30 voucher (I'm not rich) and mascara on there is about £18 for the cheapest... £30 wouldn't get her alot.
Back to the drawing board..........
:D:D
Is it me or am I being really picky and awkward??
I could just get her some bath cubes........... Genie

your being really picky...
Go into superdrug, but her a mascara in black, an eyeshadow pallet with a selection of colours in (they have amake that has 3 different pallets with approx 10 colours in for about £3.99), a bronzer, a neutral lip gloss, and maybe someting like a bright blue or green eye liner for a bit of someting different.
They do cheap purfumes or body sprays too you could make her up a really nice gift basket of make up bits and she wil love that you have taken the time to select things for her.
Honestly unwrapping all those gifts will make her feel like a princess, more so than feeling guilty about spending on herself if she's not that way inclined!
Just my thoughts...0 -

Think you are 100% right..........
I would've liked for her to choose what she wanted/needed - but I think I have been unrealistic.
Thank you for your patience!!Genie
