Car finance deposit
unforgiveable

Hello, I didn't know where to post so move it if you need to
Recently I asked for car finance from a dealer and was chuffed after receiving it. But later I changed my mind as I realized the car was extremely overpriced. After calling them to cancel the contract I was rudely told I won't get my deposit back as it cost them to send the documents and many more things. Do they have the right to do that?
Thanks anybody who answers me

I believe they have a right to retain the deposit.
It is not their fault you changed your mind after making an agreement.0 -
I believe they have the right to keep a deposit unless at the time of you giving it to them you make it clear you want the right to cancel and to have it back. My last dealer was not best pleased by this but i bought the car anyway, i normally specify this incase of a sudden change of circumstances.
However, if you have signed contracts and the finance etc I would suspect you have a legal contract with them making getting the deposit back even less likely
could be wrong thou0
