A Experian Query

Options
I got my Experiean report recently and found 2 late payments with a store card G E Money. This was last summer not long after I had moved and I told BHS my new address but they didn't change the house number
Once this had got sorted out BHS refunded the late charges and refunded the interest too. End of story or so I thought.

The Experian report had it on there as 2 late payments. I contacted G E Money and I've now got it sorted out with them to my satisfaction and got it all in writing. They say they have amended the records.

Do I need to contact Experian to check up on this and send them copies of the correspondence?

It's certainly worth a phone call but has anyone had any similar experience?

I want to look up my report again in a few months to check up on all the changes I've made. As I've closed down store cards and cancelled 2 credit cards. I've not applied for any new credit but I've been get rid of the old deadwood and store cards.

Yes, you will need to check with Experian again in couple months time.
As amendment don't seems to go on the report as promised.

Never tried this myself, but many of the forum user say this, i assume it is correct.

i would phone them up in the first instance...i found them very helpful.
obviously it depends on what they say but i would then get another listing.
also i'ld also get you credit record from the other two CRAs.

I had a similar incident with a store card, i wrote letters to their head office noting the problems and got them to send me a letter to confirm that they had dealt with the situation, i still have this letter in case of any comebacks in years to come. Once i recieved the letter i phoned Experian and got them to check my file to see if it had been rectified and they confirmed that it had, and then 2 months later i got a new credit search report done just to make sure everything was ok.

So call Experian and get them to check that everything has been put right and always get confirmation in writing for you to keep.

A quick update: I phoned and checked and the late payments have been removed! I'll keep all correspondance filed away. Thanks to all for the advice and support on this site. Before my MSE days I would have been none the wiser and probably would have have let it be.
