Lol and I thought £70 was plenty to spend on one!

  • The KitchenAid is a rather poorly specced mixer but very trendy - hence the price. A Kenwood Chef Premier KM560 outperforms it in all practical areas at less than half the price.............except trendiness.

The Harrods price is actually more expensive than a local shop here in Lincoln. Recent price for the KitchenAid in Home Depot in Houston, USA, was $174. So now you can figure out just how big a rip-off the UK price is.

Still, if you really must have the trendy one, then you won't mind throwing away the money. :rotfl:

Since the average shop price in Frasers, Comet etc is £359 and John Lewis varies between £389 down to £359 depending on what way the wind is blowing a price of £329 is certainly a reduction and in the spirit of MSE worthwhile bringing to people's attention. I'm sure if anyone is intending to buy one in the USA , bring it through customs and deal with the power conversion at this end then they won't be trawling the Grabbit board and rushing to Harrod's because I suggested it.

I'm sure Amazon were selling the white one of these for £149 at the end of last year. The colours are lovely, but it's way too expensive. Amazon's previous price sounds much more realistic.

scottishminnie I can get a 6 month return ticket to India for less than the price of this food mixer and i could have gone to Goa in India last season for £299 2 weeks with board.
I did say well done for finding it IF it was a cheap deal. Too me they are ugly machines and i wouldnt want one on my worktop even if it was priced at £50 . Thats my opinion.

It was their lower grade model. I considerd buying one, but I am going to hang on for the real deal.

Or get a Kenwood Patissier, does the same job, looks just as good too.

Currently £99.00 on Amazon. Great reviews.....plus I got one a year ago and it's excellent.:D
