Beware::

I received three mails containing the following:

"From the desk of Mrs A Laury. Hello, How are you doing today? I hope that all is well. Would you like to work online from home and get paid? SINO IRON & STEEL TRADING CORPORATION. needs a book-keeper in the State, so i want to know if you will like to work online from home and get paid without leaving or affecting your present job? We are group of business men involved in the production and exportation of semi finish steel products, such as Low alloy vessels,Carbon plates,Ship building plate,Plate for boiler/Vessel,to europe,canada and america. We need someone to work for the company as a representative/book keeper in the states. My company deals in the sales of semi finish steel products, such as Low alloy vessels,Carbon plates,Ship building plate,Plate for boiler/Vessel from all over the world and we have clients that we supply weekly. My clients make payments for our supplies every week in form of wire transaction, Money Orders, and cheque, which are not readily cashable outside the United States and United kingdom, so we need someone in the States to work as our representative and assist us in processing the payments from our clients and you would be paid $600 per any payment you receive. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO RECEIVE THIS PAYMENTS FROM OUR CLIENTS IN THE STATES GET IT CASHED THEN DEDUCT YOUR $600 FOR YOURSELF AS WE HAVE SAID YOU WILL FOWARD THE BALANCE TO THE COMPANY DOWN HERE VIA WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER. Our payments will be issued out in your name and you get them cashed deduct $600 for yourself as we have said, and forward the balance to the company via western union. Basically, what the Company is searching for is a Representative/Book-keeper in the State, who would help to establish a medium of getting our funds from our customers over there. If you are interested in working with us we would be very glad as inability to get our payment in cash has posed a big problem and has affected account reconciliation and turn over grossly. These are legitimate transactions between our customers and our company Representative. We are offering $600 per any payment you receive and subject to your satisfaction you will be given the opportunity to negotiate the mode by which we will pay for your services as our official Representative/Book-keeper in the States. The mode we would prefer would be instant deduction of your own share from the amount you cashed before going ahead to send whatever is left for the company via Western union money transfer. But, sometimes the FBI gets involved incase if someone trys to run away with our money. We are aware that you would be charged to have the money sent whatever, that would be deducted from the balance of the funds after you must have deducted your own share which is $600. Please, if you are interested forward the following information so that, i can send you the employment form: 1.Full name: 2.Phone number: 3.Full contact address: 4.Nationality: 5.Marital status: I await your urgent response, Kindly reply back. Warmest Regards, A Laury. SINO IRON & STEEL TRADING CORPORATION."

This is obviously a scam like the Nigerian one currently circulating in relation to people with goods to sell.

Regardless of how much you need to earn extra cash, do not respond to this scam.

  • I am about to mail yahoo asking them why so many scams seem to arrive via Yahoo accounts then requesting them to intervene and cancel the sender's account before reporting it on to the IWF.

    Perhaps those of you who read this will do likelwise: more folk more power.

    Ah, I think you'll find when you question Yahoo about this that although they appear to be coming from Yahoo accounts, they are in fact not (faked headers).
  • Thank you Jenniferpa.

    I had the same sort of scam (involving them sending money which I had to bank then send on their share via Western Union) a few months back when I was trying to sell furniture. The address then was yahoo.com. When I contacted yahoo regarding it including a copy of the mail, they responded advising me that they had traced the account holder and had dealt with the offender.

    I omitted including the sender's address in my copied mail though:

    A. Laury [laurya_51@yahoo.com]

    At least they have a sense of humour Mrs A Laury:Mrs salary.

    Well, I'm not paying it for them.
