Good Causes Not To Claim Child Support For PWC

Just wondered what constitutes "good cause "not to pay child support. A friend of mine was in a similar situation regarding the debt.

This was a strange one, as he was a step relative to the PWC. The NRP was under the age of 18 and the PWC was over 25, and they had a child togther. Due to the legalities of relationships of this nature being both had to be over 21 only, his child support was reduced.

Good causes, are also if the child or PWC is in danger. Has anyone else heard of step-relative relationships?

Any other cases, where good causes are considered?

The good cause would have been because he was under 18 not because he was a step relative

It the NRP was under 16 when the child was concevied that would also be good cause as it would result in proof that a statutory offence had been committed by the PWC

In this case, I'm guessing it was a statutory offence as he was under 18 and laws on step relatives relationships is 21.

Don't know for sure and quiet an obscure one
