I'm leaning towards sands-by-the-sea because of that French Wiki page where it mentions 'Camp Bleu à Plage-les-Trous'. Plage and sands are similar but sables would be a literal translation of sands. Trous is hole or burrow though... The proof will be in Waterstones methinks.

I've read it in French and the Camp is 'Plage-les-Trous' - which does literally translate to 'Beach of Holes'...

    :D the question is

    Q. What is the name of the camp that Nicholas goes to in Nicholas on Holiday?

    a) Shells-by-the-Sea Camp
    b) Sands-by-the-Sea Camp
    c) Fun-by-the-Sea Camp

    :D

There is only one competition, The Times says go to Phaidon to enter.

The answer is Sands-by-the-sea, I went to Waterstones and stood amongst the seated children, looking rather out of place...

    Merge requested btw.
