I've been looking at a couple of clios for DD, seen one in CH Mallusk and 1 in MH Motors just down the road, I see both dealers have had a bit of criticism...I've searched for a few terms but don't think Ive found all the info on them...anyone care to bring me up to date with both of these dealers?
Thanks

I used to work for charles hurst and i have to say that they majorly overprice a lot of their cars so go in and haggle like mad. OH bought a year old 308 recently from hursts and had a few problems with it and they sorted them out with no problems.
I bought a car off MH motors in 2005 - it was a vw lupo and i didn't have any problems with them or the car and it was a decent enough price. Apart from the fact i got it empty! That said - i have been up to him again to look for other cars and have seen a few dogs.0 -
Can't talk much about Charles Hurst, apart from the fact I bought a car off them and regretted it as it was a bundle of crap.
There's a seperate thread on here for MH Motors, but I witnessed them repairing bodywork, including respraying panels, then selling the car as in prisitine and immaculate condition, so be very careful there.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
I have seen a 2 year old car in Hurst Used Direct in Newtownabbey, seems reasonably priced, but I am a bt reluctant to go and see it because of people's opinion on Hursts. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking out for with them?0

Personally I think you should look for the exit and drive to another dealer
Not much help really I know, but a friend of mine is having issues with their service department and extended warranty at the minute, I really have no confidence in them whatsoever.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
MH motors is the worst. As Bigcammy said they respray, clock the mileage and will advertise as pristine, low mileage and thanks to the previous owner. I was there once looking for a car for my friend and it was the worst experience.0

I wouldn't touch Charles Hurst with a barge pole.
If they were the last car dealer in NI I'd get the ferry to mainland UK to buy a car! I haven't bought from them myself, only had repairs done .... which they messed up.
My BIL bought a car from them and had no end of electrical problems with it, which Hursts denied knowledge of ..... until BIL produced the car instruction book which had notes scribbled all over the fuse diagrams. One refund later they bought another car from somewhere else!Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
Yes we put down a deposit on a car from charles hurst and it was a nightmare, there was a fault with the car radio and they had to get a part to get it fixed before we would pay the balance, well we waited, and waited and waited and in the meantime it was "yes you will get it next week" then the following week "will be another week" so in the end I went to the manager and demanded a refund and bought a car elsewhere0

ok I am convinced! apart from the fact that I rang for more details of the car earlier, and was told a member of the sales team would call me back within 10 minutes. Stll waiting 10 hours and 15 mins later.....0
