Sainsbury's meals-for-a-fiver 'brilliant bacon pasta' recipe uses creme fraiche and it's really good (it's on this page, but you need to scroll down). I also like it with strawberries, instead of cream.0

As gingernutmeg said - with strawberries.
I've also had it with raspberries & salad (not all together:rolleyes: before someone asks)0 -
I normally use it as an alternative to a creamy sauce (as my H doesn't like them I only need a small amount) so I cook bacon, onion, courgettes, peppers with pasta and coat it all with creme fraiche.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

you can use creme fraiche in just about any recipe or dish that you use ordinary cream in as that's basically what it is, a type of soured cream.
It can sometimes curdle at high temperature though so be aware of that if you are using it in cooking.0 -
Mix in a bit of creme fraiche to pasta or risotto at the the final stage of cooking to give a nice creamy sauce. It works wonderfully in my favourite HM mushroom risotto and I find you only need to use a tiny amount. For a pasta dish, try chopping up some grilled bacon and add to cooked pasta with some fried onions, garlic, mushrooms and courgettes. Stir in a spoonful of creme fraiche and top with a bit of grated cheese and you have a delicious (easy!) dinner. As others have said, you could also use it up by eating it with fresh fruit or instead of cream/ice cream to accompany any dessert.0

I use it for dauphinois potatoes. Slice potatoes (I find it's better to cook and cool them first) then put in a dish with alternate layers of grated cheese. Make a sauce by gently heating tub of creme fraiche, 2tsps of lazy garlic (or fresh crushed) and a chicken stock cube. Pour over the potatoes and bake at about 180 degrees for about 45mins. It's delicious and you can freeze it if necessary. Serves 4 or 2 very greedy people depending on what you have with it.0

Creme fraiche is lovely with chill con carne. Just put a great big dollop on top of the chilli once you've served it up - tastes like heaven
