Cheek back to yourselfI think you'll find that I do know my chemistry  You were suggesting adding H2O2 to a mix containing bleach, which has the potential to release Cl2

I was suggesting adding H2O2 to CH3COOH which wouldnt give off any chlorine. I mean if someone adds bleach to any acid it will give of things like chlorine or maybe HCL but I thought only an idiot would do that but then People have now shown me that housewives and basic chemistry dont tend to mix.
Of course I realise that you know your chemmy PPWho I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
Stardrops is being sold in the £1 and 99p shops. They sell stardrops with ammonia as well .0

I wasnt suggesting adding it to bleach or at least I didnt think I was. That sounds like advice for a home made bomb:D Your deleted post clearly suggested adding hydrogen peroxide to the mix.

That is unfair to housewives and people who read this board in general. Many of us have other subjects we are very knowlegeable about and just because we don't specialise in chemistry to generalise us in such a derogatory tone is completely out of order. There are people who are keen to learn and rely on advice on this board. Your advice was bad and subsequently was deleted.
Of course I realise that you know your chemmy PP Then why post what I have highligted in your post above directed at Penny who incidentally is a housewife but also happens to have a PHD in chemistry?

Chlorine gas can be relased, following the chemical reaction between them, and in a confined space this can be lethal
I'll add this to the current thread Warning - Mixing Stardrops and Vinegar later.

Sorry - I dont think I was clear - I didnt add Zoflora to the Vingear - I added it to the stardrops (which isnt acidic)......making stardrops antibacterial as I dont like the smell of vinegar.
I know its still not a good idea - but the OP asked - I wasnt recommending they try it - only telling them that I had.
Apologies for the confusion!Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Hi
Sorry to hijack, but I was just wondering what we should be using as a general oldstyle multi-purpose spray?
I have tried making one up before from looking at other threads and it was fine, but it didn't last very long and went a bit mouldy.
I have stardrops and zoflora, which I use pretty regularly but always seem to end up buying a general purpose spray for the kitchen work surfaces. Also, white vinegar as softener, how much should you use?0
