I have several, but the main is a Vantage LTSB current account, keep between 5 and 7K in here (you must add 1K a month) and you get 4% interest on the entire balance. A very good deal, and easy to move 1K in and then out again to another internet account for a good rate.

    £1.09 in my current account.

As soon as I get paid, then bills get paid, set amounts go off to savings accounts and I'm left with a set amount to use as my "social money" - i.e. money for cinema or pub etc.

mine is quite high but by the end of the month will be down to zero, and i knew without checking, but then i do check almost daily anyway. I used to stage the DD to come out over the month to minimise the o/draft interest but now i'm o/draft free i guess i'll have to have a rethink on the whole issue. Oh good something new to get my teeth into this month :)

Not a lot in our current account but it always stays in credit. Any excess is sent off to other accounts which pay better interest during the month

My current account always has no less than 4k, the wife keeps no less than 2k in hers, and the rest is in a regular online savings account.

    E.

Whilst we do have saving accounts and Premium Bonds, we normally have £1000 approx. just before pay-day (which is at the end of the month) so currently we're in group E.

I have 3 current accounts - Alliance and Leicester Current, Halifax Easycash and Co-Op Cashminder.

In Halifax, I have £50.24, in A&L I have £32.48, and in Co-Op I have £2.04. I also have £65 in cash which will be more than likely going into my A&L account tomorrow - main account is A&L, the other 2 are used as places to put spare money, although Co-Op will soon be my main account and A&L will be kept solely for writing cheques on when needed and for transfers in and out to/from my parents account - Halifax one is in my new name so thats handy to have if needed as well.

    G. In Credit £501 - £1,000

Just been paid and it doesn't really count per se as it's all going to be directly debited away very soon!!! :(
Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice. :(

If I keep over £1000 I find I tend to spend a lot more!

    Yet,
I find it's nice to have over £500 quickly available for things like unexpected car bills.
Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker
