Assuming you are talking about the JCP Back to Work sessions, they are in groups.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • It is a 1 hour group info session taking people through the jobsearch process. It may seem silly but quite a few people have never been out of work and don't know the different ways to look. They also get the latest 100 vacancies, tell you if any companies are recruiting etc. You don't normally have to speak in front of the group only to say what field of work you are looking at, also if you have an interview coming up. They are usually friendly and helpful. Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you attend as if it is the mandatory session, if you don't go there can be sanctions imposed.

Sorry might have not made it clear. Daughter has been offered a job but does not start until a few weeks, she is still getting JSA because she is seeking temp work until the start date. The JSA told her yesterday when signing on, when she told them that she has been offered a job that she will have to attend a full day workshop. She asked what is was and they said it was a requirement for everyone that goes back to work, although she has only been signed on for a few weeks, so obviously doesn't need skills to seach for a job, interview techniques etc. It seems strange to me, she has not been long term unemployed.

I presume this maybe a new thing that has been introduced ?
