I agree, I'd not been there before.BB - I find the buffet places a bit too canteen like for a 'date'. All that upping and downing and trying to get your moneys worth.
I'm not really into the buffet places, but as he'd originally brought the leaflet around it seemed a good way to get him out with me for just £5.50! He was miffed it came to £18.50 in total and was questioning it as we left. He thought it was going to be cheaper than £5.50 each - I think he'd read the lunch time prices - £3.95. Drinks were £2.50 each - I had a glass of wine and he had a pint of beer and he said 'you could have had a Magners' when I said I wanted a second glass of wine which translates to 'a Magners is twice the volume of wine and would have cost me the same as 1 glass of wine'. I asked for a pint of cider for my second drink - they didn't have any - so I had another glass of wine :rotfl:
it's taken me about a year (barring holidays) to get him to go out anywhere with me - he doesn't like eating in restaurants very much as it is - to quote him last night 'I don't like restaurants. You don't know what you're getting'. And 'upmarket' doesn't go with him I'm afraid. If I said what you suggest, i'd get 'so, I take you out and you still moan?'sammy115 wrote:Why don't you suggest you go for a meal somewhere nicer during the week. Say that it was a bit carp wasn't it dear, shall we go a little bit more upmarket.
