Secretarial and Answering Services Question

My wife runs a business and needs to get a telephone redirecting/answering or secretarial service.
1. Has anyone used/worked for one of these and can recommend (or not!) their services.
2. What pitfalls should she be aware of / looking for?
3. What sort of services are available? She needs someone who can either redirect a call to her wherever she happens to be at that time or that can take a message if she is unavailable. Alternatively, she could use someone that will always take a message or book a return telephone call from her.
4. It would possibly be helpful if there was some sort of diary service thrown in too if it is not too expensive.
5. Some sort of out of hours service (e.g. voice mail that would alert her) is pretty important to her.
There seem to be loads of services out there and I haven't got a clue how to tell the good from the bad. Please help!
