Debt Advisory Line

Hello,

Has anyone used Debt Advisory Line?: http://www.debtadvisoryline.co.uk/

My friend has been using them for a few months now and recommends them and I'm thinking of signing up with this early next week.

I'm at the stage where I need to use a debt company as I have no money, my credit card companies are not willing to help or accept any proposal, even after many times of asking.

Krazy K.

If they're a company that charge any kind of fee then avoid them like hte plague. There are companies that can help you for free, and they're better thought of in the industry. They are CCCS, Payplan, Christians Against Poverty and CAB.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    I've been told they charge a one-off £50 charge.

If other charities or organisation could do it for free, why you should pay?

They are just doing all sort of the same thing for you.

I'd like to hear the success rate of the free services? Have they been able to freeze your interest and cut your debt sum and if so by how much?

On another note, I've been paying my debt for years and years now and not used my CCs for 2-3 years. Morgan Stanley froze the interest a year or so ago and I pay £20 each month. I sent a letter to all my CC companies recently to ask the rest to do the same. I wrote to Barclaycard (who now own my old Morgan Stanley card) to let them know I done this, I didn't propose anything to Barclarycard as I've already had an agreement with Morgan Stanley. But today I receive a letter from Barclaycard that they have no accepted my proposal of £20 a month. Eh?? I didn't propose anything and I already have an agreement, of which I've been paying for a year now. Useless!

Please let me know your success rate with free (or paid) services?

The success rate of the non fee paying debt charities is a lot better than paying some leech company.

Creditors prefer dealing with the Non-profit Debt Counsellors' List
as they get more money and you are going to repay your debts quicker

Avoid the fee chargeing companies as they take there fee from your first payment and usually 10-15% a month

Thank you. So is my friend in for a little bit of a shock? He says he's only paid a one-off fee of £50.
